Letter: Tomlinson: A true professional

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The members and the Board of Directors of Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad want to express our appreciation to Ricky Tomlinson who just stepped down from the position of fire chief of the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department. Chief Tomlinson is to be commended for his many years of dedicated service to our community; he has been a true professional to work with over the years.

Often one of the first to arrive at accident scenes, Ricky did an excellent job in managing difficult situations and assisting rescue squad personnel with the delivery of emergency medical services. He also provided much needed support for our mutual training on numerous occasions. Thank you, Ricky, for your many contributions to this community and MVRS.
