Letter: Toddsbury fundraiser a tremendous success

The Fairfield Foundation Board of Directors would like to thank the community for its support and sponsorships that led to our most successful fundraising event. Our gracious hosts, Breckenridge and Mary Montague, opened their home at Toddsbury to the more than 100 attendees who enjoyed wonderful food prepared by Helen Ward of The Table at Wilton and were entertained with 19th-century style dancing and military re-enactors.

This event also allowed us to share the recent archaeology discovery of several heretofore unknown 18th-century outbuildings at Toddsbury, thanks to the Montagues and the hard work of many of our interns and volunteers. The event generated tremendous excitement amongst our guests and raised more than $11,000 to support the Fairfield Foundation’s educational programs, public outreach, and archaeology and preservation projects across the Middle Peninsula.
