Letter: Time to change county’s leadership

The time has come for Gloucester to achieve its potential as a thriving and prosperous community. I have lived in Gloucester for the past 15 years. My husband and I settled here because we found the people and community to be warm, intelligent and caring. However, over the past several years I am seeing our community kept from the growth and prosperity enjoyed by our surrounding area.

This stagnation can only be attributed to lack of management and leadership from our board of supervisors. I attended the recent forum to meet the candidates held at the Abingdon Ruritan Club and was frankly shocked at the elitist snobbery spouted by the current supervisors. The claim that our taxes have been lowered or remained the same is simply not true.
