Letter: They would not benefit our schools

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I went to the Mathews candidate forum last week. I only had one question to ask the school board candidates and it was a Yes or No question: “Do you think that the United States of America is a systematically racist country?”

It was very telling when Ms. Forrest and Ms. Hodges chose not to answer; the others answered no. In my opinion, neither of these women should be on the school board as they have already formed a strong mindset against our country.

They would not benefit our schools, especially with the push for Critical Race Theory, which is another name for Culturally Responsive Teaching. Culturally Responsive Teaching is a requirement for teacher certification. Neither of these candidates would be an asset to our school system.
