Letter: They are not to be celebrated

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The 2026 election for governor found Gloucester and Mathews overwhelmingly supporting the Republican candidates. Most Democrats will regret having been lied to when they encounter social indoctrinations and major tax and energy increases.

Last week’s letters to the editor vilifying ICE shows a pitiful or deliberate undertaking to misconstrue protesting “peacefully” in the street, when it’s actually a “Color Revolution” (communist revolution) by observed training professionals, using the Riot Planning Guide successfully over the world, now here.

There is a detailed system for this which calls for occupying buildings, civil disobedience, blocking roads, creating barricades, creating autonomous zones where no law enforcement is allowed, and breaking the law deliberately seeking imprisonment or worse. This is what we see each day. Two trained individuals lost their lives in this effort by coming against law enforcement, one with a concealed gun and one using her car and injuring a police officer. They are not to be celebrated.

Reading the GJ letters lamenting over ICE titled “May we unite in truth” (by a school board member!), “We need immigrants,” “Vote for decency” and “Profound sorrow,” are either completely naïve to the trained and planned, out-of-control mobs and their destruction or they support it and call it something other.

Our new governor is inviting the same consequences by establishing Virginia as a sanctuary state, while at the same time removing our ability for self-defense. If this direction continues, this year will not end well.

I pity our amazing law enforcement agencies as their hands become tied, just like all the other Democrat states instigating this chaos by protecting the criminals and punishing the victims.
