Letter: There is something in the air

Wow, what an evening! A great big Thank You for our many sponsors for the Mathews County Democratic Committee’s annual Crab Steam. We had more sponsors this year and many more people attending. There is something in the air.
They came to meet, greet and eat. It did not look or feel as if anyone was disappointed in the evening. They came to talk with and listen to our candidates. Those attending and speaking were Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, Justin Fairfax, Sheila Crowley and Tom Hicks. They were all inspiring and caring and their speeches made for a boisterous mallet-pounding-and-standing-ovations kind of evening.
Also in attendance were area Democratic Party leaders, as well as some of the candidates running for local boards.
Thanks to the MCDC for all the pre-planning and hard work. Accolades to Edith Turner (acting chair) and to Bud Ward’s pre-planning—what good leaders for us new party members. The next time you hear about an August Crab Steam ...
