Letter: The year of small donations

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

From what I’m reading and also hearing from various candidates and the local and state level, this is the year of small donations, not large corporation money. This letter is to encourage you to send your $25, $30 or $50 donations to our candidates. We need real working class, common sense people involved.

We need to elect Ralph Northam as governor, Justin Fairfax as lieutenant governor, Mark Herring as attorney general and, most especially, Sheila Crowley of Mathews to the House of Delegates, 98th District. We need these compassionate, smart people working to offset what is going on in Washington.

There is dim light coming out of Washington, as some are separating themselves from Trump’s views. As Gen. James Mattis (Secretary of Defense) says, “Let’s hold the line until things become more normal.” And Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said, “The president speaks for himself when it comes to values and racism.”
