Letter: The sky is not falling

Once upon a time, children learned life lessons from fables, fairy tales and morality stories. Not so much anymore, more’s the pity.

Listening to the news, I am reminded of the childhood stories of The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Chicken Little (if you’re less than 50 years old you may have to Google these titles to know what I am talking about). 

Several times a week the media trots out what they label as a new “crisis,” potential felony or flagrant misdemeanor involving Republicans in general and President Trump in particular. They “Wolf! Wolf!” from their broadcast booths with such fervor that we public come running, only to find nothing: a “nothing-burger;” no there there.

Then we have “Experts” to opine on the latest Wolf with arms flailing and squawking about the end of life as we know it … the sky is falling! You would think that the news folks would do a follow-up in a month or so to...
