Letter: The question about Easter

Well it’s Easter again. The stores are filled with chocolate bunnies, colorful eggs, baskets, marshmallow chicks and jelly beans. The papers are full of advertisements for toys, candies, food and outfits assuring a perfect Easter experience. There are Easter cards, one showing a rabbit struggling to lay an egg, the other sunrays behind a cross proclaiming the hope at Easter. Churches are posting their Easter schedules beginning with Lent and leading to Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Eve vigils, sunrise services and then Easter Sunday.

I almost forgot about the Easter Egg hunts with one church having theirs Easter Sunday before the 11 o’clock service. After families wake up Easter morning in awe of the goodies the Easter bunny left many will then put on their new Sunday best and head to church to celebrate the risen Christ.
