Letter: The problem lies with Congress

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This letter was inspired by that of Shelley Napier, “We are a nation of immigrants,” which appeared in the July 24 issue.

Huzzas and halleluiahs to you, Shelley! I am happy to see that I am not the only person who is sick and very tired of the endless drivel in the letters column, written by the far right wing Tea Partiers and the hypocritical pseudo-Christians who wish the government to break every rule of true Christian conduct, along with the precepts upon which our country was founded. They apparently wish to reverse every piece of social progress achieved in the past century (unless they themselves are benefitting from said progress).

These people seem to forget (if they ever knew) that the president is our chief executive, charged with, among other things, defending and obeying the Constitution, and administering the laws of the land, not with making law.
