I moved to Virginia in 1997 and have been working up and down the East Coast from Miami, Fla. to Bangor, Maine. Moving from the state of Washington, I was pleased to learn that the price of gas in Virginia was 45 cents a gallon less in Virginia than Washington.
I soon learned from my travels that Virginia and New Jersey had the least expensive gas in the mid-Atlantic region. Gas in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina was 20-30 cents more than in Virginia. I used to fill up my gas tank at the last gas station before I crossed the Virginia border.
That happy circumstance lasted until the Democratic party took control of the General Assembly in Richmond. Now that the Democrats have imposed California’s extremely preposterous and extremely radical energy policy on our great state, we are blessed with the highest gas prices in the region. Today, gas is cheaper to buy in Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina than it is in Virginia.
