Letter: The president’s conundrum

Editor, Gazette-Journal: Winston Churchill said, “The best defense is a good offense.” Why then are we hearing so little from prominent men named in Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophilia ring? We get denials, but they are limp. We hear about transparency but get little. We do get puzzling contradictions and confusion. In February, Attorney General Bondi told Fox News Epstein’s client list was “sitting on my desk right now to review.” Then a DOJ memo asserted there was no evidence of such a list. What’s the truth? Trump ended his friendship with Epstein sometime between 2004 and 2007. According to the Miami Herald, Trump “kicked Epstein out after Epstein harassed the daughter of a member.” That action gave Trump credibility. Why not build on it?
