Letter: The people who make our county special

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism celebrated its most awesome volunteers on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Gloucester Moose Lodge. A great dinner was provided by Eggheads Diner. The evening celebrated the people who keep our county special.

These folks volunteer as youth coaches and officials. They volunteer helping at our parks and with park events, haunted trails and many other events. They volunteer at the visitor center. They are there wherever and whenever we need them.

These special people are what Gloucester County is all about. We thank each and every one of them for their efforts. All are special. There were also a few awards handed out.

Volunteers of the Year were Frank and Thomas Evans for park service, Justin Stanley for youth sports and Earnestine “Teeny” Anderson for tourism.
