Letter: The only dumb question is the one unasked

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This letter is in response to Mr. Richard Hill’s comments concerning the Mathews County board members ("Member’s commentaries were counterproductive," April 4 Readers Write).

I have attended numerous board meetings. The board should ask questions and discuss the issues in a public forum, not a back room. Informed, educated decisions are the product of questions asked. The only dumb question is the one unasked.

I have disagreed with some of the board’s final decisions, but that’s democracy at work. At the end of the meetings, I respect the board members.

Thank you, Mrs. Putt, and all board members.
