Letter: The importance of the Tea Party

I am more and more convinced that the survival of this republic will be determined by the influence of the many Tea Partiers across the nation.

If you question this, please consider the following: Most Tea Party members are middle aged or seniors who, as parents and grandparents, want to preserve freedom for our children and grandchildren. We have lived through a time much different from what we see today, realizing that the freedoms we have enjoyed are quickly disappearing.

Our Constitutional rights are being trampled by an out-of-control government. Evidence of that are the recent scandals being revealed within the federal government. Tea Party members have been marginalized and ridiculed as radical and conspiratorial, but through it all they have remained committed to standing for American freedom. Our goal is to try to restore the honor and dignity that once made this country superior among the nations of the world.
