Letter: The forgotten school

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

 

Not too long ago, my wife and I were at a fast food restaurant. She was wearing a Page Middle School shirt when a gentleman came up to her and said, “You know you can get a lot of money for that shirt.”

 

My wife replied, “Why is that?”

 

He said, “You know, Page Middle School doesn’t exist anymore. It was destroyed by that tornado.”

 

She answered back, “Oh, it still exists. I work there.” 

 

He wanted to know, “Where is it and who goes there?”

 

After letting him know it was the trailers (North and South campuses) in the parking lot of Gloucester High School, we realized that this was not the first time someone had mentioned that Page doesn’t exist anymore.
