Letter: The exemplary Sheila Crowley

Sheila Crowley is running for the General Assembly as a matter of conscience rather than political ambition. She is a good citizen who wants to make the community where she lives a better place for everyone. A better place means clean water and unpolluted land, state-of-the-art education at all levels, comprehensive health care for all, livable and equitable wages, participatory democracy, and a United States that is built on the diversity and unique gifts of its people.

Virginia will not have the economic development that is such a buzzword unless educated people want to live here and can work well together. Planning must be visionary and comprehensive, fair-minded and generous. The practice of government must be based on facts and honesty.
