Letter: The county needs new leadership

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am supporting Ken Farmer and Kevin Smith for the board of supervisors. The way current board members Mr. Bazzani and Mr. Meyer have strangled Gloucester County has been thoughtless and self-serving.

These two often crow about how they are trying to keep the tax rate low when, in reality, one of their primary concerns it seems is protecting the select citizens who own large tracts of land or large boats.

If Bazzani and Meyer really wanted to help the average Gloucester citizen keeping tax rates low, they would have been working to create a new business park, high-wage manufacturing jobs and support the manufacturing jobs we have.

During the past term of Mr. Bazzani and Mr. Meyer, we saw one of the high-tech firms and manufacturers of Gloucester (Marine Sonic) leave for greener pastures in York County and Bazzani and Meyer acted surprised and bewildered that this could happen. Why wouldn’t a business leave under the current climate?
