Letter: The compassionate thief

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Several weeks ago I had three newly delivered boxes stolen from my front porch in Mobjack, Virginia. This was both tragic and funny. It was tragic since I am a paraplegic that must self-catheterize six times a day and the items stolen were 300 catheters. The replacement value of the catheters was over $2,000. It was funny because I could imagine the surprise on the face of the thief when he opened the box and saw what he had stolen.

Now hear the rest of the rest of the story. A week later, the missing catheters were returned to my front porch: A compassionate thief. Perhaps the Thanksgiving Spirit got to him.
