Letter: The case for Keith

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Delegate Keith Hodges has represented the constituents of the 98th District for six years. Moreover, he has done it in a way that acts as an example to other delegates in defining service. That he votes conservatively isn’t surprising, given the make-up of the district (e.g., 72 percent for President Trump in the general election). Yet he has opposed legislation offered by conservatives that he felt was badly written, or undermined individual rights. Also, he listens to the opinions of his constituents.

Keith’s attendance record during the legislative session is impeccable, but he goes far above that. Keith has taken a part-time job of delegate and given it his full-time attention. Visiting every political subdivision of the 98th District at least once a year (there are nine), he logs over 80,000 miles a year on his vehicle.
