The best deal in town is happening at Arts on Main on the third Thursday of October, November and January through April. This is when the Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association gathers at Arts on Main to hear lectures from area artists or staff affiliated with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

The topics vary from poetry to painting. Next Thursday, Nov. 17, for instance, local musicians will talk about playing stringed instruments. (They might even play us a tune, if we are lucky.) The lectures are free and the public is invited to attend at 8 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., a dinner is served for $20 per person. Reservations for the dinner can be made at wsgrant@hotmail.com by the Sunday prior to the event. We look forward to seeing many new friends at our upcoming events.
