If you are like me, all you have heard from the mainstream media and the Democrats about the Big Beautiful Bill is fearmongering about Medicaid and SNAP programs and how millions of people are going to die because of it, which is not true.
Here are just a few of the things in the BBB that you probably haven’t heard about.
—Permanent extension of the tax cuts first enacted under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 during Trump’s first term. Those cuts were due to expire after 2025. The bill extended those cuts.
—The standard deduction will increase to $15,750 for single filers and $31,500 for married couples.
—The child tax credit increases from $2,000 to $2,200 per child, with up to $1,700 refundable and future increases indexed to inflation.
—For children born between 2025 and 2028, the federal government will make a one-time $1,000 deposit for every eligible child who is a U.S. citizen. Parents can contribute up to $5,000 annually, and employers can also chip i...
