Letter: The backbone of this country

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Despite the somewhat inclement weather on May 22, the Cruise for the Blue was a tremendous success. The purpose for the Cruise was to show support for our law enforcement officers and to honor fallen Virginia State Police Trooper Chad Dermyer. There was a lot of teamwork which made the event go smoothly. I would like to thank the following persons, clubs and businesses:

The Virginia State Police and Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office for providing escorts and support; Ken Houtz Chevrolet for their monetary support; The Middle Peninsula Classic Cruisers Car Club; Memory Lane Car Club; American Legion Riders; Gold Wing Road Riders Association; Eggheads Diner and Home Depot for their support; Look! Signs and Designs for producing the “Blue Lives Matter” signs; Arntz Inc. for producing the “Cruise for the Blue” banners, and other individual friends.
