Letter: Thanks to Hayes Habitat ReStore

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

With the start of school, everyone should know that the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Hayes is a great place to get project supplies for an unexpectedly great price! This spring, the staff helped me put together a butterfly cage out of donated window screens and scrap wall board that was perfect for three caterpillars. Over the weeks, our family could watch the tiny creatures eat our lush parsley plants and grow, then form and hang in their chrysalises, and finally emerge to fill their wings. With our swinging screen roof we watched each blue swallowtail butterfly leave its safe place to take its first flight!

Sharing the experience with family and the Habitat ReStore staff was the best part; so thank you, Ms. Theresa and staff, and all who donate and shop there.

I’m so glad the store is a part of our community!
