Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On behalf of the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department, I would like to thank the supporters of our BBQ supper on Saturday night. Although doing all takeout was new to us, we appreciate everyone being patient waiting in line as we tried to keep the line moving as fast as possible.

I would also like to thank our food and financial supporters—Chesapeake Bank, Beach Bum BBQ, Deltaville Market and Richardson’s Café. Without their help, this would have been very difficult.

Once again, I would like to thank all supporters and urge you to support these local businesses.
