Letter: Thankful for Courthouse Restaurant

I would like to take this opportunity to commend Kim and Doug Hibbs, the owners of Courthouse Restaurant. As their gift to the community, they served a Thanksgiving dinner open to all on Thursday, Nov. 22.

The food was delicious. They had turkey with all the trimmings. There were many volunteers who came out to help. Service was very well-organized and joyful. There were many customers, as well as people who came for take-out. The atmosphere was homelike, which was a comfort to those of us who had recently lost family members and really did not want to eat or cook a meal at home.

I realize that there were other places in Gloucester that offered Thanksgiving meals, a very valuable service to the community. The one we chose to attend was with the Hibbs family at Courthouse Restaurant. This family gives back to the community in many ways.
