Letter: Thank you, Michele Baker

The Mathews Visitor Center is lucky to have members of the community like Michele Baker (formerly Plotino), to run the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt in the Mathews Historic Courthouse.

Of course we had to cancel the event this year due to the concerns of coronavirus, and safety of the children, but we were so looking forward to the fastest and cutest event Mathews has to offer. Every year, Michele and a few of her helpers work many months tediously stuffing over 3,000 eggs full of candy, just so a few hundred kids can pick them up in under 10 minutes, it is hilarious, and heartwarming.

This kind of dedication of time is the epitome of our community and we must highlight these good acts while we endure this pandemic together. We appreciate the donations to purchase the materials from the Tara M. Plotino Fund and Tammy and Buz Rollins.
