Since the merger of the Rosewell Foundation with the Fairfield Foundation, we have seen a tremendous improvement in the care of our Gloucester heritage.
Fairfield has been able to secure over $500,000 in grants both for the stabilization of the ruins, and broadening the interpretation of the ruins. The stabilization helps to preserve our past for future generations. The inclusion of the enslaved community is an extremely important acknowledgment for those families that helped to build and support the plantation.
With the many events at the ruins, and other Gloucester locations like Timberneck, Fairfield Plantation, Walter Reed’s Birthplace and the CAPE, Fairfield has helped to make Gloucester a great place to live and visit.
