People who live in Gloucester and the rest of the United States should be proud of the fact that we have an elected police force, instead of a national police force like most of the world. Look at Cuba, Russia, Mexico, etc., and how corrupt things are. The duty of any police force is to protect life and property of its citizens.

Sheriff Darrell Warren of Gloucester has done a remarkable job with very few deputies and a limited amount of money. Crime has been on the rise in Gloucester. Most neighborhoods have been affected; however, no sheriff or any law officer can do their job efficiently without the help of the community.

Support your local police; they are your neighbors and your friends. We do not need a national police force.
