The local police departments of Mathews, Gloucester and Middlesex counties are so helpful and accessible to around 57,000 residents. To help them make ends meet, the Support Your Local Police Committee began a fund drive in honor of National Police Week (May 10-16).

We could reach our $25,000 goal by May 26 if every subscriber gave just $5. We want to thank everyone who has or is considering supporting our effort.

Donation checks made out to “Support Your Local Police Committee” may be mailed to Chesapeake Bank, P.O. Box 726, Gloucester, Va. 23061, or search for Support Your Local Police Committee Fund at GoFundMe. Any gift would be greatly appreciated and all proceeds will be distributed among the three departments.
