Letter: Support for MVRS has been outstanding

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The members and Board of Directors of the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad (MVRS) want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone in Mathews County who continues to support our mission of providing the best possible pre-hospital emergency care available, anywhere. Your outstanding response to our recent fund drive, even in these tough economic times, has been one piece of evidence of your support. All of us at MVRS appreciate your contributions as your funds assist us in having state-of-the-art medical equipment and providing leading edge training to all members.

These difficult economic times have also had an impact on some of our volunteers who either have less time to volunteer due to work issues or who have had to take absences. So we extend an offer to anyone who may want to volunteer their time to help others and to let you know that we will be starting a new EMT class on Sept. 24 at the MVRS building. More information on that class will be forthcoming...
