I left an affluent neighborhood in Virginia Beach for Mathews County. After Cincinnati, Ohio, and Virginia Beach—cities run by Democrats pushing a socialist agenda—I wanted to move to a place where people love their freedom, and care for the land and their families.

I find that, in Mathews County, people have kept their common sense and love for all that is good. Raised in a socialist country, I know firsthand socialism is bad; it is evil, it takes from the hard worker and gives to the lazy one; it gives job positions to the undeserving instead of the one best suited for the job, in the name of equity. Running from socialism, people risk their lives running to America, subjected to hardships just to taste freedom; parents giving up their children in hope for the life they didn’t have.
