As the Christmas Blessing Fund drive draws to a close for 2013, I want to give thanks in advance to everyone for their generosity so far. It has been exciting to watch the total grow and to see that it is already so close to the goal.

The spirit of giving and compassion for others is overwhelming and very heartwarming. There are many places and organizations all over that take time to think of the less fortunate. We are blessed in our small town of Mathews. These kind acts shown at this time of year do not have to end when the campaign is over. There is always a need somewhere, 365 days of the year, whether it be a family member, neighbor or perhaps someone you don’t know. There are endless ways to help. This fund is one of them. It is not too late to make your donation. There is never a deadline when it comes to serving others, be it your time or your money.
