Letter: Some thoughts on two letters

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This letter is in response to two letters published in the July 30 edition of the paper.

First, the letter written by Anthony Nelson of Gloucester (“Healing the racial divide”). This letter suggests we remove references to the Civil War. I strongly disagree. The Civil War is part of our history, good or bad. We are going down a dangerous road when we start revising our history. It is what it is. Accept it. You don’t have to like it.

Second, the letter written by David Peebles of Ordinary (“Limit Obamacare”). There may be many reasons to limit or perhaps repeal the Affordable Care Act, but I have never seen anything substantiated by facts. Mr. Peebles obviously thinks it is bad for the country, but where are the facts?
