Letter: Solar farm questions answered

I have enjoyed meeting people in Gloucester over the last few months and appreciate the strong public interest in Strata Solar’s proposed facility. This is an exciting clean-energy project that will bring positive benefits to the county, and we look forward to discussing the details at the informational session set for 7 o’clock tonight at the county library. In the meantime, here are some facts about the project:

What will it look like? Solar panels are installed on posts in orderly rows. We will maintain the existing foliage and trees along the boundaries and supplement them with new plantings where needed. For security, there will be a chain link fence behind the landscape buffers that will be six feet with barbed wire. Collecting light energy from the sun is a passive use.
