I am writing to endorse Penny Kemp Smith as a candidate for the Treasurer of Gloucester County. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with Penny at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury where she currently serves as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Her educational experience (Master’s Degree of Taxation), professional certification as a certified public accountant (CPA) for a large, nonprofit organization will add significant value to the Treasurer’s office.

Penny always has the best interest of the person(s) she is serving at heart. She takes the time to listen to every concern and come up with the best resolution of whatever financial question or interest is shared with her. Penny wants to improve the $1.7M delinquent tax issue your county faces. She supports paying school and county employees twice monthly. She wants to create an online portal to ease tax payments for citizens and out of town property owners. Penny will always ensure transparency and will work hard to ensure cooperation with your county’s leadership.

Penny has integrity and compassion. She loves Gloucester County. She will always do what she feels is in the best interest of your residents. Vote for Penny Kemp Smith on Nov. 5. She will not disappoint the residents of Gloucester County.
