Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I have had the privilege and pleasure of knowing Mr. Kevin Smith for many years. I will definitely be voting for him this election for a myriad of reasons. I urge you to consider these qualities that make Kevin a superior candidate.

Mr. Smith is first and foremost a Christian family man. His commitment to both his family and the families of Gloucester County ensure that he supports schools, organizations and churches that help to foster a healthy community for children and their families alike.

As far as the economy, Kevin Smith always takes into account how any changes may affect the people of Gloucester. He views tax increases and decreases within the scope of how it affects everyday members of our community. He is not beholden to businesses or individuals with deep pockets. His goal is to make our county “Land of the Life Worth Living.”

The thing I value most about Mr. Kevin Smith is his honesty. Mr. Smith is not backed by big money donors, as several members of the board are. He is not beholden to any interests other than his constituents. I have personally worked with several members of the Board of Supervisors on different committees. I can honestly say that Mr. Smith always listens and tries to understand the local implications of new ideas. Unlike others on the board, he does not prescribe a deep-set ideology of any party. He is truly independent and honestly cares about you and me. His focus is to make life a little easier for all of us.

I hope that you will consider these musings as you vote for the At-Large candidate this election. Kevin Smith has the experience, values and work ethic that we need at the help of Gloucester County.
