Letter: Silent heroes

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Almost every one of us has come home to a dark house or suddenly lost power while in the house. They are certainly not pleasant times.

While driving home to a dark house or inside our homes without electricity, we realize something that we have probably ignored for a very long time. We suddenly realize we have seen men working on high poles with live wires, in inclement weather, long hours and sometimes go out of town to assist with catastrophic situations, yet often we forget their sacrifices. Their jobs are very dangerous!

We are all so blessed to have these men and women dedicate themselves to restore one convenience in our lives that we certainly take for granted.

The above-mentioned individuals are employees of Dominion Energy and they are my Silent Heroes!
