Letter: Should our elections be secure and legal?

Given the brouhaha(s) surrounding foreign meddling in our country’s elections, how would you feel if your Congressman voted to eliminate funding for election security? Well it happened on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Rob Wittman voted against adding Election-Security funds to a 2019 Budget for Environment, Treasury and District of Columbia after those election security funds had been previously stripped out of that bill. 

Also, were you aware of a bipartisan House of Representative letter sent to President Donald Trump in February 2018 requesting the Federal Election Commission be fully staffed so that it could function? There are six positions at the FEC and only four are filled. So, because of the requirement that there be 50 percent Republicans and 50 percent Democrats, the FEC does not have a proper quorum and nothing can be done.
