Letter: Shine a light

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I and others have requested the Gloucester County School Board to explain why it has not extended the school year, why it has not extended the school week to five days, why it has not scheduled summer classes to make up for the remote learning farce that the facts show has been detrimental to our students and why there appears to be a plan to teach Critical Race Theory in our school system and encourage a cancellation culture among the students.

Until this week, there has been total silence on requests for a town hall meeting to respond to these troubling concerns and to change scheduled school board meetings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to allow citizens time to return from work to attend the meetings (the school board is the only county body to schedule meetings at this time).

On May 13, chairperson Robin Rice broke her silence in an email response to yet another writer, stating:
