Letter: Setting the record straight

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Two editions ago, I sent in a letter to the editor about my opinions on the Lee-Jackson name change. My opinion on this issue has not changed. That stated I must send in a correction on the opinions of my father, the owner of the Island Stop.

After better discussing the issue with him he would be satisfied if the school simply became Mathews Elementary School. Since I do not wish to mischaracterize the opinions of anyone in my family shared or not shared I felt it was necessary to make sure this correction was printed.

That being said, I and I alone have chosen to state my opinion on this issue and my opinions agreed with or not are not in any way associated with the Island Stop Market. I simply bring them up to show my continued connection to the county when expressing my opinions on such matters. I still hold hope the school board will do the right thing and change the name of the school.
