Letter: Senior Safety Fair a success

On Sept. 20, for the fifth year in a row, the S.A.L.T. Council (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) hosted the Senior Safety Fair at Newington Baptist Church. This was an informative and fun-filled day with speakers and exhibitors who were called upon to give information on keeping our senior citizens safe. I am happy to report that the fair was a great success, and that we had a record number pre-register again this year!

The council is made up of citizens and stakeholders from the community who have committed to work together to enhance the quality of life for our older citizens. We hope to heighten awareness and focus efforts in mobilizing community resources to better meet the needs of our seniors.
