Letter: Seeking good public servants

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Let’s be resolved to start locally and early to get our politics back on track, and something of which we can be proud.

I don’t know if Jack White is a Democrat or a Republican. For years, our board of supervisors ran for the office never declaring their party affiliation. That’s the way it should be locally, doing what’s best for Mathews County. I agree with Jack about getting most county-owned property back on the tax rolls. I know Jack has declared he wouldn’t be running again, but I hope we can help change his mind. We need thoughtful and hard-working people serving us. We thank you, Jack, for all your hard work and commitment.

Judy Rowe of Gwynn’s Island would be a very good, passionate and knowledgeable person for the board of supervisors, or extra good for our school board.
