Letter: SEAC meetings are important

I am writing to inform citizens of Gloucester County about the importance of the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). This vital committee is getting ready to meet again on Tuesday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the T.C. Walker building.

The purpose of the SEAC is to advise Gloucester County Public Schools of needs of children with disabilities, participate in the development of priorities and strategies for meeting the identified needs of children with disabilities, submit reports and recommendations to the superintendent, assist the school division in interpreting plans to the community for meeting special needs of children with disabilities for educational services, review policies and procedures for the provision of special education and related services prior to submission to the local school board as well as participate in the review of GCPS’s annual plan.
