Letter: Route 17 beautification and safety

It is always a pleasure to congratulate a business in concert with the county that landscapes and beautifies its property, including egress off of Route 17. Auto Max of Gloucester has done exactly this and cleaned up and beautified the Ordinary Post Office for the first time in its existence. Congratulations for a job well done.

By the same token, a large dump truck with a sign "You were almost in (name of subdivision)—It’s a Wonderful Life" on both sides is parked at the entrance to a subdivision each weekend and is most unattractive and unsightly and is not a credit to the good judgment of the county administrator and board of supervisors. I realize that we have not had the gumption to clean up the sign ordinance, but this is unbecoming both to the developer and builders on this property, in addition to the Gloucester County administration. The violation of good taste at worst and skirting the law at best should not be tolerated.
