I had a recent experience in my neighborhood that reminded me how one decision can have a life-changing domino effect on many.
For many years, my neighborhood has been overrun by squirrels. These destructive vermin destroy any attempts for gardens or outdoor potted plants and are also causing costly destruction by chewing on just about anything left outdoors.
This year, I have noticed more hawks, owls, and recent evidence of a fox in the preserved wooded acreage surrounding our neighborhood. The presence of our woodlands and these predators has created a healthy balance with humans by reducing the squirrel population. All creatures great and small need our woodland.
I just wanted to take a moment to again thank the Planning Commission for their reconsideration of the zoning regulations last year in the Court House area.
