Letter: Roadside trash disheartening

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

It is disheartening to notice all the trash on the sides of the county roads. People just seem to stop at fast-food restaurants and convenience stores and toss their bags out of the window. There also seems to be a lot of garbage that does not make it to the recycle center before it flies out of the back of the truck.

I wish fellow citizens would be aware and bring back some pride in the place where we live. It is so simple to place trash in proper containers and teach our young children to respect their community by making it a more beautiful place to live.

Gloucester and Mathews are beautiful destinations for lovers of nature, so we should not cover it with trash!
