I was pleased to read that the Mathews Board of Supervisors, through the County Manager, is working on a proposal to restore our GIS, property information, to the internet. Mathews property owners and real estate professionals have been denied this information for an extended period of time.  

Surrounding counties have excellent websites that allow access to the property details in their counties. As a real estate agent, I have used this information to assist in valuing properties and in their purchase and sale. The lack of internet access to Mathews County property information has been a major handicap and inconvenience.

I hope that our supervisors will move quickly in restoring this information to the internet.
