Letter: Restaurant Challenge is all about the kids

Shop With A Cop is one of Gloucester’s finest service projects, put in place by Capt. John Schick Jr. to ensure that many of our neediest children are able to receive a special blessing at Christmastime.

It is a year-long team effort of many different fundraisers. The last notable one was the third annual Restaurant Challenge, sponsored by Sgt. Jake Forehand of Local Cycle Events with the Car Show. Eight local restaurants prepared an appetizer to be tasted and voted on. Good Life Kitchen won and is now distinguished by a gorgeous banner that declares it “Restaurant of the Year.” I am very grateful and humbled by this honor, but recognize the many fine restaurants that graciously participated in this event. Olivia’s, Juan’s, Patriot’s Grill, Ann’s Family Diner, Bangkok Noi, Courthouse Restaurant and The Office Bar and Grille all did an outstanding job of preparing a delicious recipe.
