Letter: Rest in peace, Your Majesty

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

How fortunate the Commonwealth has been to have had such a leader as Queen Elizabeth II! Beyond the U.K., the world has been positively impacted by her guidance, wisdom and steadfastness.

During the pandemic, she addressed the Commonwealth and the listening audience worldwide. Her words of hope and comfort (which we heard again today) so impacted me that I wrote her with thanks. Sometime later, I picked up my mail and there was a letter with an embossed envelope from Windsor Castle. Her lady-in-waiting had replied with the Queen’s thanks and gratitude.

I do treasure her letter and pray world leaders may take note of how she led for 70 years.

Rest in peace, Your Majesty. We do miss you.
